Excuse me if I'm wrong here...

Sleep is important.
Everyone needs to sleep.
If someone is unable to sleep, it becomes an illness.
So as you can see, sleep is essential.

Love is important.
Everyone needs (to) love.
If someone is unable to (find) love, it becomes an illness.
So as you can see, love is essential too.

But apparently, to some people, love is of a higher need than sleep. Let's see, in
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, this is indeed true. This means that one must satisfy his need for sleep first, before he even thinks about love. And 'love' is not even equal to 'sex' here, because sex IS a basic need, according to Maslow, right behind 'sleep'.

So that means, if a really, really tired person is lying in bed, and his partner jumps in and tries to cuddle up with him (and not really looking for sex either), he is right to totally ignore his poor deprived partner and maybe even grunt his displeasure at being disturbed?

Ah yes, that explains everything.

Now I wonder. Between the 2 basic needs, sleep and sex, which would be the more urgent need?
