Third day of the Rooster

And it's over. Just like that.

I wait 363 days for this, and it's over in a matter of a fluttering of eyelids. Is $500 worth of ang bao money worth the wait?



Of course it is!!!

That money, of which I would spend in less than 3, maybe 4 months. Sigh. Can't wait for next year. I know it sounds foolish, but how else can you find an occasion when your mother tells you (or even gives you money to) buy new clothes, when you can gamble the day away, when you can eat and drink alot of forbidden foods, when you receive money for doing absolutely nothing, AND GET THE HELL AWAY WITH IT!

In other worlds, this is known as decadence and debauchery. Not a festival.


And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the story of why I love the Chinese Lunar New Year.
