I looked at the pile of computer books on my bed and then at the Harry Potter on the floor, then with a huge sigh and a loud crack of my knuckles, I picked up Web sites that work by Jon Smith. I didn't fall asleep. Gems like "When I visit your web site I want to be encouraged to spend my money, not run away as fast as I can crying for my mum" and "It must be obvious to your visitor, as soon as they land on your homepage, exactly what is going on. It's no good saying 'Can you guess what it is yet...?" kept me giggling for hours. Yes, at a book on web site design!
