1455 hrs @ Changi Airport Terminal 1

My bags were packed and sitting quietly by door. My little tiger was sprinting quickly across the room, playing with his imaginary friends.

I watched him for a while before picking him up and hugging him close. Immediately he started purring, as he always does whenever I hug him. He bit hard on my finger and struggled to twist himself free from my embrace. Somehow, my hug is a little tighter today. Tears started welling up in my eyes, and he stopped struggling and looked at me properly. We stared at each other for the longest time, before he lifted a paw and pressed it softly to my cheek. I put him down and walked to my door, and closed it behind me without looking back.

To think I'm only going away for three days.
